Roosters, Cap City award youth hockey scholarship

August 11, 2024

This season, the Cap City Summer Elite League was proud to partner with Roosters as the league's official puck sponsor. A fun, casual joint, Roosters is known for their world famous chicken wings and through the Roosters Foundation the company is giving back more than $1 million a year to local charities and organizations. Roosters' mission is to partner with difference makers in the community and give back to those local charities, programs and organizations that support the growth and well being of the community.

Through our partnership, the goal this season was to raise money for a worthy, local youth hockey cause through sales of Roosters official game pucks and a raffle that included game worn, autographed jerseys from our inaugural season. Thanks to the support of our fans, we are proud to award a $1,000 scholarship to the Ohio AAA Blue Jackets 12U team and their pursuit of the prestigious Quebec International Pee Wee Tournament in 2025. The tournament is a 12 day event that takes place each February and is a once in a lifetime experience for players, coaches and families alike. By supporting the Quebec Fund, we are helping lower the extraordinary costs of travel and participation for the families involved that go above and beyond their season fees.

"We are thrilled to support the 2012 OBJ team's pursuit of the Quebec tournament," said Cap City's J.C. Campagna. "The 2012 team is a special group of players and families that has made a positive impression on our staff. We wish them the best of luck this season and are proud of the way they represent Columbus! We would also like to thank Roosters for their partnership this season and all of our fans for helping support this worthy cause."

The team will be recognized prior to Tuesday's Pro Division Championship Game and will be presented a check by Rooster's Nicole Cox and Cap City players and OBJ alumni Sean Kuraly, Kiefer Sherwood, Jack Roslovic and Carson Meyer.

HERE are the rosters and schedule for Week 6 as we look to crown champions in both the Pro and Prospects divisions!
